Despite weather, Saturday best day to catch blackfish, striped bass and bluefish

  • But dedicated ones still managed to find a way to catch some blackfish, striped bass and bluefish. Over at City Island in Long Island Sound, Jack’s Bait and Tackle’s John DeCuffa is the one that’s betting on Saturday’s being the best weekend fishing weather. At depths of 30 to 50 feet, bass up to 30 pounds are feeding on cocktail blues since there’s not much other good bait around. He’s been producing blackfish, a few up to 10 pounds, over New Bottom at water depth in the 55 to 65 foot range. Jigging for stripers has been especially good in the middle of the Sound behind Execution Light and around Hempstead Harbor. They produced a striped bass count of 25 keepers and 15 shorts from depths of 27-35 feet on the “green” side of Ambrose light Capt.

Where to eat in New York on a budget?

(corner of 90 st. ) NY, NY 10024 open everyday Mon -Sun 11 am-10 pm tel: 212-875-9072/9073. Or for a very special NYC experience pick a lovely day, take the F train to Carroll St. in Brooklyn, explore lovely waterfront areas and Red Hook, with it’s great pubs, and wind up at the new Fairway Store in a restored 19th Century Fort and... My favorite dish is in the vegetarian section is a vegetarian casserole with clear noodles its so good and the tofu skin is just delicious. For a quick pick-me-up and and a classic NYC experience, try some free grazing on high quality samples at some of our most respected food emporiums: Fairway and Zabars uptown, Gourmet Garages and Whole Foods Markets throughout, Dean & Deluca in SoHo. Answer by boardbiker China Town, Manhattan on Canal St. SIde stores for fast Chinese food and cheap. There were a lot of diners Greek owned that were comparable to the prices here, and my friend is vegan too You can go to Staten Island or Brooklyn and find good places if you have time. I would try to get a recommendation or at least read the reviews on Citysearch and Timeoutny, ’cause many of these places are at most mediocre (with many gems thrown in too. If you explore, you’ll find…, noodle houses, buffet type places where you pick out the food over the counter and they dish it out for you. But most good Thai, Viet, Malay, Indian (of course) and Chinese restaurants will offer reasonably priced vegetarian options. Also, I am a vegetarian (I eat fish also), so I’m not looking for places that serve only meat. Can’t remmeber the name — this is also a good people watching place as it is across the street from Union. My old fave is also Republic on western side of Union Sq. , it’s a pan-asian place, very affordable and with decent portions and many seafood and vege choices, quite loud and perennially trendy, so you can stare at the wannabees. I would like to eat in unique places, but I don’t want to spend an arm and a leg. ) one of my favorite restaurant that I’ve been eating at for over 6 yrs is. Saigon Grill located 620 Amsterdam Ave. If you have access to stove, China Town also have fresh fish and veggies stands so you can cook for a fresh, healthy inexpensive meal. i gave you this location because there are many other great restaurants on Amsterdam ave and on Broadway too. I am not a fan of faux meat, but legions of fans love that place. You have to try the crystal shrimp dumpling or any crystal dumplings there. My favorites are the Hummus Place and the Dumpling Man on St. Anthony’s. These places are a lot of fun and some have live Indian Music also. Also one thing I found out the hard way is that in China Town everything starts out with Shrimp Based Broth and for people that have shellfish allergies this can be VERY dangerous. for cheap Indian food — including vegetarian. Also, there is a vegetarian restaurant on the corner of Park Ave. There food is great and not high in price. If you feel like a splurge, you can a take a water taxi back to Manhattan directly from the Fairway dock. Also you cant go wrong by going to Canal Street in China Town. I am a student (age 20) and I don’t have a lot of money to spend on food.

Plenty of carbohydrates as well as protein so that you can still build small amounts of weight with muscle. That way you are less likely to risk injury. Concerning your routine it ll depends on what your looking for but generally avoid cardio as this can burn much needed energy, work in short bursts regularly rather than long sessions at random times to gain muscle as quickly and safely as possible
newnikesho | Mar 16, 2013
lift the heaviest u can without hurting urself, do only one muscle group each day, 4-6 reps/set of weight lifting, 2- 3 minutes breaks in between sets, only use quality protein like hydrolyzed isolate like iso100, take about 100grams of protein throughout the day and use micronized creatine. i gained 29lbs of muscle in 2 months doing this last but not least a preworkout supp like "xpand 2x" really helps lift more although u dont really need it

Any tips on fishing for bass ,blue fish or striped bass on long island Ny ?

I've been fishing a few times already with my friends and we babbyyy caught anything but a lousy red robin. We've been to the north shores and south shores on long island with no luck. We usually fish with poppers, diamond jigs and bucktails . The one time we caught that red robin was with menhaden bait ( bunker) . We've actually seen blue fish or bass flopping out of the water one time and they were pretty decent sized but were unable to catch anything . We are beginners and wondering what we are doing wrong . Places we have been to are Robert Moses beach , wading river , and a few other spots on south shore. We get really frustrated because just the other day at Robert Moses someone caught about 30" striped bass in the same waters we were in . We usually go around sunrise about 4-7am. Any tips would greatly be appreciated .

They were blitzing, and were after the mackerel,or the menhaden, and they were out too far for you to reach. You could try a Kastmaster or a Crippled Herring and wing them out far into the breaking fish.Generally the stripers will be under the bluefish picking up the scraps from the blitz,The tides have a lot to do with it,you'll need to watch this and fish on the full high tide and slack more than low would be productive, and the approaching darkness,or in the dark is better for stripers than dawn, they'll hit eels at night. If you can try Montauk, you'll do better there.

When you're fishing from shore more often than not you have to scout out the right spots in the surf where the fish are holding. Look for sloughs (ditches near sandbars) and cut outs (breaks in sand bars) or structure (like jetties) which would hold fish. If you're still fishing use a striper/bluefish rig with is one that has a float. That will cut down on the spider crabs and sea robins a bit. no matter what you're doing you're likely going to have to move up and down the beach a bit. Watch the birds when you see the birds working the water you want to be there. Blues will be on top, stripers will be under or down current from them. Pitch your tins in that direction or your poppers/cranks in between. When you can fish a rising tide and a west wind....but you get out when you get out and read the water....

Bluefish

Creator: Pat Schmatz | Juvenile Fiction - 2011

Everything changes for 13-year-old Travis, a new student who is trying to hide his illiteracy, when he meets a sassy classmate with her own secrets and a remarkable teacher.

Publisher: Candlewick Press

About this book
Thirteen-year-old Travis has a secret: he can't read. But a shrewd teacher and a sassy girl are about to change everything in this witty and deeply moving novel. Travis is missing his old home in the country, and he's missing his old hound, Rosco. Now there's just the cramped place he shares with his well-meaning but alcoholic grandpa, a new school, and the dreaded routine of passing when he's called on to read out loud. But that's before Travis meets Mr. McQueen, who doesn't take "pass" for an answer--a rare teacher whose savvy persistence has Travis slowly unlocking a book on the natural world. And it's before Travis is noticed by Velveeta, a girl whose wry banter and colorful scarves belie some hard secrets of her own. With sympathy, humor, and disarming honesty, Pat Schmatz brings to life a cast of utterly believable characters--and captures the moments of trust and connection that make all the difference.

    Awesome boat shoes!

0 4/5 echo - See all my reviews Verified Purchase(What's this?) This review is from: Sperry Top-Sider Women's Bluefish Shoe (Apparel) The Sperry Bluefish Leopard/Sequin boat shoes is my first pair of boat shoes and I really like them a lot. They are comfy, have a cushioned foot bed, and are really cute! I didn't know if I would like the sequins or leopard spots because that is not really my style but they are subtle and people have complimented me on having a fun pair of boat shoes that aren't like your average boat shoes. If you are buying these shoes try not to get them wet. I got stuck in a rain storm and the shoes got soaked, the leather is okay but the grey dye from the tongue bled onto the shoes a bit and discolored it.I am a size 8 but bought a 7.5 when I saw that they run big. It was a good choice because they fit perfectly.Other than that, great shoes! 0 Help other customers find the most helpful reviews  Was this review helpful to you? , August 23, 2012

0 4/5 Angela Young - See all my reviews Verified Purchase(What's this?) This review is from: Sperry Top-Sider Women's Bluefish Fur Boat Shoe (Apparel) I tried on a size nine in a department store a little while back, but then when I ordered these in a nine they were just a little too large. They still fit well enough to wear, so I kept them, but it was a little disappointing when I put them on and they were just a little to loose. Luckily they will probably fit fine with wool socks. I live in a cold area so I wear wool socks for probably 8 months out of the year. 0 Help other customers find the most helpful reviews  Was this review helpful to you? , August 20, 2014
