Eastern Wisconsin boys basketball: Zimmerman helps Waupun tip past Plymouth

  • Plymouth got the lead up to five twice, the last time coming with 3:41 to play. Not only did the Warriors (13-4, 8-2 EWC) keep the Panthers (13-5, 9-1) from making the league race a formality but they made it a week to remember. He knocked down a 19-footer with 52 seconds left to set up his air…antics on the tip of Mason Domask’s miss. Bille learned the hard way as Jankowski hit all three free throws to spark a 10-2 Panther run that ended the half. PLYMOUTH – When Cody Zimmerman visualized his game-winning shot, it’s doubtful he envisioned it followed by a serenade from the Plymouth student section. I had to get their hopes up. ”. Zimmerman could laugh it off, largely because he laughed last. His tip-in with eight seconds to play gave Waupun Thursday’s 50-49 Eastern Wisconsin boys hoops road thriller.

Midwest Fishing Report: Rivers and lakes around Chicago fishing

COOK FPD: Ice fish at your own risk (4 inches is recommended) on the designated ice-fishing lakes, same as last winter: Arrowhead, Axehead, Beck, Belleau, Big Bend, Bode South only, Bullfrog, Busse main and south (no north pool), Flatfoot, Green,... Late-night fishing is allowed at Deep Quarry Lake in Bartlett (fishermen must be out of the preserve by 11 p. m. ). KANE FPD: Ice fishing, at your own risk, is permitted at Lake Patterson at Oakhurst in Aurora and the various ponds at Burnidge in... LAKE FPD: No sites are open yet, When ice fishing is permitted, the sites are Banana, Independence Grove south bay and Sterling, when the ice is uniformly 4. DuPAGE FPD: Unless otherwise posted, it's ice fish at your own risk on forest preserve waters (4 inches of ice is recommended). Fishing in Port Washington has been slow overall with only a few browns and rainbows being caught by shore anglers fishing off of the Rotary Park rocks or the white railing area. SILVER SPRINGS SFWA: Ice fish at your own risk on both lakes (Loon and Beaver). Some good pike along shoreline on roaches on tip-ups. 20), the Hollows (Lake Atwood and West Lake), Lyons Prairie & Marsh, Pleasant Valley, Rush Creek pond and Stickney Run (closed until after bowhunting), once signs are posted after 4 inches of ice are formed. MAZONIA SFWA: Monster Lake is open year-round for open-water or ice fishing. CHICAGO FISHERMAN'S PARKING: The fisherman's parking pass--$10 for two months and available at Henry's Sports & Bait --is needed to park south of the main building at Northerly Island. PUBLIC AREAS REGS: Ice fishing isn't permitted on the Chicago lagoons or the lakes of the Forest Preserve District of Will County. Fishing pressure was light this past week, rain and windy conditions made for less than ideal ice. Fishing pressure was light this past week, rain and windy conditions made for less than ideal ice. Fishing pressure was light this past week, rain and windy conditions made for less than ideal ice. Most fishermen are congregated below the Hattie Street Dam in search of walleye. Ice fishermen accessing some lakes, but with caution, around shoreline areas. Fishermen at Voyageur Park are reporting about 4 inches of ice on the Fox River. Most shoreline anglers are catching bluegill, south end of Channel is good, on ice jigs and spikes or wax worms, according to staff at Triangle. Fishermen at Oconto Breakwater are fishing in the river channel for perch (which are running small), pike and whitefish. McHENRY COUNTY CD: None are open yet for ice fishing. All ice fishing is done at your own risk. Ice fishing is sunrise to sunset at the Fel-Pro RRR (closed until bowhunting ends Jan. Spring Creek Reservoir in Bloomingdale is closed to ice fishing (fluctuating levels). ACCESSING THE CHAIN: For the T-Channel, best first-ice spot, park at Famous Freddie's and go in to eat or leave before the lunch crowd arrives. spawn sacs fished near bottom or casting bright colored crankbaits has worked best early or late in the day. I pulled out one of the big bags I use for river cleanup that reside in the trunk and just about filled it. I got a few casts in after that but no fish and it was time for work. Call (847) 968-3235 or go to the ice fishing page at lcfpd. 5 inches thick and the area is posted as safe for fishing. CHICAGO PIER PASSES: The $6 pier passes for Chicago harbors, except 31st, are available at Henry's. For Spring Lake, Granny's Lakeside has parking for $5, but takes the $5 off your order. I worked the rest of the area with the rattlebait and jigs but the fish weren't interested. In the Racine harbor and lower Root River, ice is not safe enough for foot travel. For Marie, the last to be safe in the middle, there's Barnacle Bob's ($5), McKinney's East Marina ($5) or the Sand Bar & Grill (park in back and patronize the place). Some of the open pockets in the river and around the marina docks are giving up a few brown trout and pike. There is no safe ice yet on the lagoon or marina. several more weeks of cold will be needed before there is fishable ice. The Summerfest Grounds and under the Hoan Bridge areas have been best for browns, and a few perch have been caught as well. People have been walking out on the ice from Geano Beach in search of pike and whitefish. Ice thickness is still an issue on the Menominee River. I hit an inflow with cranks, rattlebaits and jigs, nothing to show for it. I hit a slackwater area with a rattlebait, got two medium sized smallmouth out on the seam. Harbors are icing up, nowhere near safe. A few open water fishermen around Stephenson Island have been fly rodding for trout with little success. Most boat anglers were casting jigs and plastics or soaking minnows and spawn under a float.

How to build a SMALL dam in a creek?

I have a small creek and I want to build a small dam and (maybe) use it for a little power. A SMALL DAM. Nothing to cause any damage to the creek flow such as heavy backed up water etc. etc. The creek is about 2 feet wide with a 3-4 foot drop on the sides. How do I build a dam with the water flowing? How can I use the dam to make power? ANy ideas, tips or suggestions would be great! I am not interested in the law in regards to this. Please, helpful info only please. thanks! I really just need the dam build so I can make a small waterfall and use that water as a source of power.

Start from each side and meed in the middle There you have in the bank that you built a slot. Same for the other side with the slot downward Then slide in a piece of plywood that reaches accross the creek slot to slot and drop it down. Basic idea. Ask the beavers.

Not enough of a water head to provide any substantial amount of power. My grandfather had one with a 15' head and it covered a acre, just enough for lights in our house and that was back in1949.

About this book
The efforts of a multitude of individuals who cared only that the Beaver Dam Senior Center existed are honored in these pages. This book chronicles how the people who created the events in these pages went about their work to keep the Beaver Dam Senior Center viable to the older adult in the community of Beaver Dam and surrounding areas. They voluntarily accomplished this with a strong sense of character accomplishing those tasks without need for acclaim or recognition. The pages here reflect excellence in what volunteers can accomplish at a Senior Center, and how those volunteers and their Directors built a Senior Center from the ground up and maintained it for 40 years. This is their story--this is their time to be recognized and respected for what they have done for the older adult population and their community.

    Fixed a bad spinning reel.

I purchased two ice fishing rod and reel combos and when they arrived one of the reels wasn't spinning smooth at all, I could feel it grinding as I reeled it in. I used that reel twice and got sick of it doing it and threw it aside and used some others I had. I was going to use regular reel oil to try to fix it but I was scared how it would work in extremely cold temperatures, I figured that might be why they have specific ice fishing reels because of what is used to lubricate them. I had seen this in a store when I went to buy a replacement ice fishing reel and figured this was worth a shot and figured it might be nice to have on hand anyways. With how bad it was grinding I assumed it was a lost cause though. I took the reel apart and applied the beaver dam no freeze grease on all the moving parts and put it back together. it instantly seemed a lot better and after about a minute of reeling trying to distribute the grease it seemed as good as new. It saved me money on the one reel... 5/5 muckel - See all my reviews This review is from: Beaver Dam No-Freeze Grease, Blue (Sports) I purchased two ice fishing rod and reel combos and when they arrived one of the reels wasn't spinning smooth at all, I could feel it grinding as I reeled it in. Of course I love it, but is it worth the price?

Yes, I love this $60 Beaver Dam tip-up. Of course I love it! It's Beaver Dam. It's high quality. It's dependable. It's an insulated, round tip-up that will make this kind of ice fishing much easier and convenient than a tip-up that will allow a hole to freeze over. I'm proud to own one and I will continuously brag about it. Is it worth $60? Well, that's questionable, but it's worth more than most. Can you get the job done with a $15-$30 plastic insulated round? I would say, yes. With a Beaver Dam, you're getting just a little bit extra performance, but a much higher quality product, so the extra performance should be time and time again. But, we all should expect greatness from Beaver Dam for the price we pay, so if you're going to buy one, hold them to it. Functionally, I had to get the 12" round because I have a 10" auger. The 10" round tip-up is about 10.5", so it may fit over a 10" hole, but you're taking a chance I didn't want to take.
